Operations Center Czech Republic (CZOPC) in Ostrava is the European engineering center for ABB's Process Automation Division. We are around 100 employees who are providing engineering services for ABB business units in the different European countries, mainly Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Sweden. Our disciplines are SW development, automation software, LV hardware, drives and electrical engineering. We have a highly qualified and stable work force, with interesting and challenging work for our internal ABB customers.

What is this job about?
You will do design, engineering, testing, installation supervision and commissioning of process automation systems for industrial processes, based on DCS and SCADA/HMI systems. Our customers deliver systems to metal factories, mining industry, oil and gas platforms, petrochemical factories, ships, pulp and paper factories etc.

Responsibilities
• Analyse required needs and recommend solutions
• Cooperate in HW design
• Create function description and SW application
• Commissioning on customer site
• Participate proactively in project teams
• Contribute with creative ideas in order to develop solutions that keeps pace with technology and market trends
• Produce technical documentation in accordance with ABB’s and end-customers’ requirements

Project example
• Create a control SW application including remote I/Os for electrical and hydraulic drives which are controlled by speed, position or tension. The extent of the application will be 500 digital and 20 analogue I/Os and 8 electrical controlled AC drives.
