Operations Center Czech Republic (CZOPC) in Ostrava is the European engineering center for ABB's Process Automation Division. We are around 100 employees who are providing engineering services for ABB business units in the different European countries, mainly Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Sweden. Our disciplines are SW development, automation software, LV hardware, drives and electrical engineering. We have a highly qualified and stable work force, with interesting and challenging work for our internal ABB customers.

What is this job about?
As an electrical engineer in CZOPC you will work with design and detailed engineering of ABB electrical systems using MV and HV products from ABB and external suppliers. You will also be involved in internal testing and sometimes go to end-customers site for installation supervision, testing and commissioning. Our customers deliver systems to metal factories, mining industry, oil and gas platforms, petrochemical factories, ships, pulp and paper factories etc.

Responsibilities
• Design, specification and documentation of MV/HV electrical system solutions according to requirements
• Electrical system studies (short circuit, relay settings etc.)
• Technical clarification with sub-suppliers and end- customers
• Assist in preparing technical part of quotations
• Commissioning on customer site
• Participate proactively in project teams
• Contribute with creative ideas in order to develop solutions that keeps pace with technology and market trends
• Produce technical documentation in accordance with ABB’s and end-customers’ requirements

• Short circuit study for MV part of Cement plant
• Define protection system and set up control protection relays in a 22/6,6 kV substation
• Voltage drop calculation for compressor station in subsea unit
• Long distance cables (70 km) design for off shore connection

• Knowledge of MV/HV industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment
• Knowledge of short circuit studies, protection coordination, wiring diagrams

• Know-how with regard to product design engineering, technical documentation, installation, completion and commissioning is an advantage
• Candidates without work experience will also be evaluated
